1. Kingston upon Hull
Whilst I was born in Germany I have spent the majority of my life in Hull. It has a rather terrible reputation, when that is people actually know where it is. For those of you who don't it is at the other end of the M62 from Liverpool.
I currently live in Hull, although will be moving to Manchester very shortly.
2. Re-enacting
I have re-enacted for 14 years, portraying everything from medieval knight through to second world war paratrooper. My friends and I travel up and down the country throughout the year. It is a way of making sure that those who have gone before us are remembered, but also it can be great fun. It's like "cops and robbers" for grown-ups!
3. Good books
I love reading, and you can't beat a good book, something that you can really emerse yourself in! I find the best way to tell a good book is that you regret finishing it.
4. Good food
I love to cook good food, simply done. I don't mind adding the flourishes but a really good plate of food with a nice bottle of wine is really the way forward.
5. York
My Grandparents lived in York, and I have great memories of going to visit them as a child. Unfortunately my Grandfather passed away when I was about 6 and my Grandmother moved to Hull to be near the family. I still loved the atmosphere of York though and I ended up working there for 2 years, one of the best jobs that I have had in the Law! There seems to be something for everyone in York, from shopping to good restaurants, public parks to nightclubs and bars. I would highly recommend York as a place to visit to anyone!
